United Nations

I'm happy to include this page with plates of United Nations for several reasons. First of all because Italy is part of United Nations, so actually these plates are also a bit Italian, after all! So they can fit in a web site about Italian plates! Secondly, because I think they're quite interesting and for sure not common at all. And last, because I made this site, so I include what I want! Eheh! I'm kidding!

Actually I don't know too much about plates of the United Nations, so I'd really appreciate any suggestion and detail about them. Please, feel free to send me whatever you know.

The first two plates are a matched pair used in the former Yugoslavia in 1991-1992. UNPF stands for "United Nations Protection Force". The second two plates are a matched pair like the first one, but used for other purposes. The letters PF were deleted, painting them in white, to re-use the same plates on other vehicles. You can read about the origin of all the other plates just under the picture.

In 1995 Italy started making special plates for vehicles of the United Nations. They're exactly like diplomatic plates, with UN (United Nations) instead of CD on the left. Unfortunately I haven't got a picture of them yet, but I hope to have one soon.
